Guna mendukung pengembangan branding, diferensiasi dan positioning lembaga pendidikan bagi para staff dan tenaga pengajar SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung, dosen Telkom University bekerja sama dengan SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung menyelenggarakan kegiatan pendampingan PPDB (Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru) pada Kamis (20/01).

Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan secara onsite di Aula SMK Pariwsiata Telkom Bandung ini merupakan rangkaian kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dosen Telkom University yang berkolaborasi dengan tiga fakultas (Fakultas Komunikasi dan Bisnis, Fakultas Ilmu Terapan dan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis).

Pada minggu ketiga ini, kegiatan pendampingan mengusung tema ‘Pengembangan Branding, Diferensiasi dan Positioning Lembaga Pendidikan’ dengan menghadirkan tiga pembicara dari dosen prodi Digital Public Relations Fakultas Komunikasi dan Bisnis, yakni Martha Tri Lestari S.Sos., MM., Lusy Mukhlisiana, S.Sos., M.I.Kom. dan Dr. Sri Dewi Setiawati, M.Si.

Dari tema utama tersebut, ketiga pemateri membaginya menjadi tiga materi yang terdiri dari Reinventing Strategy, Positioning and Differentiation SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung; Branding vs Lembaga Pendidikan; dan Sukses Bersaing dengan Branding.

Dalam pemaparannya, Martha Tri Lestari mengungkapkan terkait pentingnya positiong bagi suatu instansi atau Lembaga.

“Memposisikan sebuah lembaga pendidikan di benak Masyarakat merupakan hal yang sangat penting, oleh Karena itu continuous improvement sangat diperlukan Salah satu nya dengan cara social media monitoring measurement”, ungkap Martha.

Lusy Mukhlisiana juga menyatakan bahwa inti dari branding lembaga pendidikan adalah diingat, dipercaya dan dipilih. Lembaga pendidikan membutuhkan strategi branding untuk mengkomunikasikan program distingtif sekolah yang membedakannya dari sekolah sejenis untuk memenangkan hati dan berada di top-of-mind masyarakat.

Tidak hanya diferensiasi dan positioning, Dewi selaku pemateri juga mengungkapkan bahwa persepi merupakan salah satu kunci penting yang diperlukan bagi suatu Lembaga untuk membangun branding lembaganya.

“Kunci membangun branding adalah persepsi. membangun persepsi diperlukan pemahaman tentang karakter produk dan lembaga, maka komunikasikan karkater tersebut, agar publik dapat memahami karater dari brand kita,” ujar Dewi.

Staf serta para tenaga pengajar SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung yang hadir secara onsite tampak sangat antusias dengan materi yang diberikan oleh ketiga narasumber. Hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya partisipan yang aktif bertanya, berdiskusi, hingga memberikan kritik serta saran yang bersifat membangun sehingga diperoleh suatu rumusan kebijakan yang tentunya akan bermanfaat bagi keberlangsungan program.
